Abstract

This study aims to empirically analyze the association among sport flow, leisure satisfaction, and intention of exercise adherence in accordance with participation motives of pilates participants. Pilates participants were recruited as subjects in pilates centers located in Seoul and Gyeonggi province and 230 samples were collected by using convenience sampling method. The study used 219 samples by excluding 11 questionnaires from those who did not consent to participate in this study or gave in adequate responses. The study conducted frequency analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and reliability analysis by using SPSS 22 and Amos 22 statistical programs. It also carried out analysis of construct reliability, convergent validity, and discriminant validity and implemented structure equation model to see the association between preset variables. Obtained results are presented as follows. First, exercise flow in accordance with participation motives of pilates participants significantly affected results. Second, leisure satisfaction according to participation motives of pilates participants gave significant impacts on results. Third, intention of exercise adherence according to participation motives of pilates participants did not give huge influences. Fourth, exercise flow of pilates participants did not significantly affect the intention of exercise adherence. Fifth, leisure satisfaction of pilates participants considerably influenced the intention of exercise adherence.
