Abstract

The Law for Development of Isolated Islands in Japan is enacted in 1948 to promote the improvement of infrastructure such as fishing port, pier, coast, breakwater, and seawall in Isolated Islands. The fishing port and coast have been constructing with the subsidy due to the law for developing of isolated islands. In the three Isolated island and their opposite coasts (Japan mainland) in Aichi prefecture, we took a questionnaire to examine the response of residence for items such as convenience of part-coast, land/sea-scape, sea bathing, anchorage facility for yacht as a recreation, and so on. The questionnaire was analyzed as the satisfactory degrees in the past and present, and the desirable degree for future with regards to each of items. The analyzed data is discussed from the stand points of the satisfactory degrees in the past and present and the desirable degree for future.
