Abstract

New characterization method of Carbon Blacks(CB) for rubber industries were proposed. The proposed method is based on the measurements using alternative technologies of a N2 gas adsorption, a He gas replacement and a laser diffraction and scattering without using several solvents such as CTAB and DBP. These measurements are easy and safe to investigate the basic structures for of CB. The new characterization method provide a multipoint N2 surface area (NSA), a statistical thickness surface area (STSA) and skelton densities of CB as well as a domain particle size and primary and secondary aggregate size, the structures by utilizing porosity, true density, STSA and external surface areas.
