Abstract

The agro-industrial complex is one of the main branches of Ukraine's economy. In the current conditions of unfavorable social and economic changes, an important problem of the modern food market of Ukraine is to provide the population with fruit and vegetables. Vegetables are a necessary element of the diet of the population, so the study of the development of the vegetable subcomplex and the level of consumption of its products by the population of Ukraine is quite relevant at the present stage of socio-economic development of the state. Purpose of the article is to study the spatial-temporal inequalities in the production and consumption of vegetable products in Ukraine. The object of research is the vegetable subcomplex of Ukraine. The subject of research is the spatial-temporal changes in production and consumption of vegetable products in the regions of Ukraine in the context of ensuring economic and food stability of the state. The following methods were used during the study: analysis and synthesis, statistical, mathematical and cartographic. According to the results of the study, we found that the products of the homeland vegetable commodity producer are in great demand among Ukrainians. Today, homeland production almost completely satisfies the annual needs in vegetable products of the people of Ukraine, but the increase in homeland production will not only fully meet the needs of Ukrainians, but also to export Ukrainian vegetables abroad. To enlarge production volumes and meet the needs of homeland consumers it is necessary to increase the level of organic production; to develop a brand of Ukrainian vegetable growing; to study the consumer needs and problems of commodity producer; to review of pricing policy; to deepen specialization, etc. In this context, the prospects for further research should be based on the study of territorial imbalances of the vegetable complex as one of the important branches of agriculture of Ukraine; studying the dynamic features of pricing policy development for vegetable products of homeland producers and the study of demand for vegetable products at all territorial levels, including international.
