Abstract

In this paper, linguistic means which we use to express semantic field of purpose (and intention) are studied. Representation includes prepositional-case constructions, verbal adverbs, infinitive and embedded clauses. Examples are taken from different functional styles (literary, scientific, legal and publicistic) considering the fact that some of these constructions represent characteristics of special styles. In this paper, we also observed interference of semantic category of intention (and purpose) with other semantic categories (causal and spacial).
