Abstract

101 women at the age of 18±35 with fibroadenoma of breast were examined and treated. The effectiveness of the two methods of surgical treatment of the patients (sectoral resection of the mammary gland and the method of vacuum aspiration removal of the neoplasms with En-cor apparatus) was analyzed and the results of the above-mentioned methods were compared. The influence of the subsequent replacement hormonotherapy on the level of the concentration of tumor markers, hormonal background and the likelihood of recurrence of pathology were considered as well. It is observed that when the En-cor apparatus is used not only the total removal of the benign tumor is secured, but a high cosmetic effect is achieved and both the early and the late postoperative complications are minimized. Significance of the inclusion of low-dose monophasic combined oral contraceptives in the complex scheme of the fibroadenoma of breast therapy is revealed. The exclusive role of dishormonal phenomena in the incipient development, progression and re-emergence of the fibroadenoma of breast after adenomammectomy is established.
