Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide the basic data for marina development which is sustainable and de-sirable by forming mutual relationship between local governments, marina developers and local residents by exploring the impact of residents expectations with the marina development on social trust and sense of com-munity. In order to achieve these objectives, this study were given to a sampling 240 people as purposive sam-pling method who residing or working in Jeongok port located in Jeongok-ri, Seosin-myeon, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do where the Marina development is in progress. A total of 214 questionnaires were selected as valid sample except inadequate 16 out of 230 questionnaire. This study used frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis and mul-tiple regression analysis using statistical techniques of SPSS WIN version 18.0 to reach a conclusion First, the economy/industry expectations of local residents in accordance with the marina development affects knowledge, appropriation and general trust and social/cultural expectations affects knowledge, appro-priation and reputation trust. Second, the economy/industry expectations of local residents in accordance with the marina development affects the fulfillment and social/cultural expectations affects solidarity, fulfillment, emotional intimacy and be-longing interaction. Third, the knowledge/appropriation trust of local residents in accordance with the marina development affects solidarity, fulfillment, emotional intimacy and belonging interaction and general trust af-fects solidarity and fulfillment with that reputation trust affects solidarity, fulfillment and emotional intimacy.
