Abstract

In the present study, modern information technology platforms (ITP platforms) are considered as a tool for digital transformation of machine – building enterprises, aimed at improving the efficiency of production, technological and business processes. information technology platforms are the basis for implementing digital transformation business models. The current trend in the development of machine-building enterprises around the world is presented as a transition to a new technological stage of development, called digitalization, or "Industry 4.0". Digital transformation involves the transition to new ways of conducting production, technological and business processes of machine-building enterprises, provides enterprises with opportunities for sharing resources, including information, and also allows them to organize their decentralized management. New application solutions in the digital format of platform technologies are replacing the tools and technologies that were at the heart of the previous stages of the transformation of production and industry. Today, ITP platforms represent the technological basis of the 4th Industrial Revolution, characterized as the transition from the production and sale of mass goods and related services to the creation of digital products and service systems and the organization of management throughout the product lifecycle. ITP platforms, representing a tool for digital transformation of machine-building enterprises, increase the efficiency of production, technological and business processes, promote the establishment of high-speed and reliable communication, support the joint creation of products and services by organizations from different countries and time zones. ITP platforms can be internal (closed), which are part of the production and technological process of the enterprise or part of the supply chain, ensuring coordination between consumers and suppliers, or external (open) - industry or cross-industry, where the platform provider or its author combines the external capabilities of participating companies.
