Abstract
The aim of this systematic review is to identify the key tasks in the description of expressive syntax constructions by the material of the English language. The article deals with the Russian linguists’ papers written within the framework of the pragmatic-oriented approach and devoted to the classification and functioning of expressive syntactic forms. The scientific novelty consists in an attempt to determine the main problems of the expressive syntax of the English language from purely linguistic positions. As a result, the main research problems in the field of the grammatical description of expressive syntax constructions in the English language have been identified and the ways to solve them have been outlined.
