Мовна картина світу як відображення національного менталітету та її інтерпретація в сучасній лінгвістиці

Abstract

The article deals with the issue of the linguistic world picture as the reflection of national mentality and analyzes its interpretation in modern linguistics. The correlation between the notions of world picture and linguistic world picture is drawn attention to. The conceptual attributes characterizing the notion of the linguistic world picture are systematized. Ways of its interpreting by modern researches are described. Special attention is paid to research of such notion as cultural codes composing system of coordinates by means of which cultural patterns are formed and kept in our consciousness. The major component of cultural code is ethnical language which is not just a means of culture description but first of all semiotic quintessence of the culture itself. Mentality as a general category of philosophy is connected with cognitive and culturological conceptions of perception, spirituality and concept. The author distinguishes the notions of language and speech consciousness. Descriptive and analytic methods are employed.
