Abstract
The paper systematizes available information on regionalism influence on artistic life of Siberia and the city of Tomsk. The article considers the following issues: formation of a unified “Siberian” style, development and actualization of regional themes and images in visual and decorative and applied art. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that works of the regional painters of the beginning of the XX century and the regional press publications on art are for the first time analysed through the lens of the Siberian regionalism. The findings justify the thesis that regionalism had a considerable impact on the Siberian painters’ creativity in terms of forming the “Siberian” style and regional artistic school.
