Abstract

Introduction: Academic components derived from positive psychology such as academic aspiration, love of learning and academic flourishing are related to academic civic behaviors. Present research aimed to investigate the role of love of learning and academic aspiration on academic civic behaviors by the mediation of academic flourishing of high school students. Method: This study was a descriptive from type of correlation. Research population were included all high school students of Urmia county in 2017-18 academic years that from them 280 people were selected through multi-stage cluster sampling method. The research instrument were included the questionnaires of academic civic behaviors (Golparvar, 2010), love of learning (McFarlan, 2003), academic aspiration (Fredricks & et al, 2004) and academic flourishing (Diner & et al, 2008). The face and content validity of the tools by experts and their reliability by Cronbach's alpha were confirmed and data was analyzed with structural equations method. Results: The results showed love of learning and academic aspiration on academic flourishing and love of learning, academic aspiration and academic flourishing on academic civic behaviors of students had a direct, positive and significant effect. Also, love of learning and academic aspiration via academic flourishing on academic civic behaviors of students had an indirect, positive and significant effect Conclusion: Therefore, the results indicate the positive effect of love of learning and academic aspiration on academic flourishing to improve academic civic behaviors of high school students.
