Abstract

In the process of production of polymer materials and products based on one of the large-tonnage polymers - polyvinylchloride (PVC) to improve technological and operational properties using various compounds with functions of the plasticizer. A characteristic feature of this group of additives is the ability to obtain materials with high tear strength and a large elongation, and also with a predetermined elasticity, persisting in a wide range of temperatures. Now the world of industry produces a large enough range of plasticizers, the proportion of those among them with good plasticizing properties owned by the esters of phthalic acid. Phthalate plasticizers occupy more than 80% of the market, with over 90% of phthalates are used for plasticizing PVC. Plasticized them polyvinylchloride compositions are widely used in the production of various products and materials in the construction sector, engineering, agriculture, and also in the home is linoleum, Wallpaper, materials for cables, insulation, hoses, decorative oilcloth, sticky tape, artificial leather, transparencies, etc. However, to fully meet the growing needs of modern industry, their number is still insufficient. With the aim of increasing the diversity of organic compounds that are used as effective plasticizers of polyvinylchloride, in the present work we investigated the possibility of practical application of phthalates ethoxylated alcohols (2-ethylhexanol, butanol and phenol) in formulations of PVC films of the upper and intermediate layers of linoleum. Based on the results of laboratory experiments, it was found that the proposed use of plasticizers can improve the technological and operational properties of PVC films in the formulations of the upper and intermediate layers of linoleum, also to improve the basic performance of the finished product - layered linoleum, namely: to reduce abrasion, change in linear dimensions, the absolute residual deformation.
