Abstract

The urgency of the problem. Works by P. I. Tchaikovsky, a recognized classical composer, is an integral part of the musical culture of the 21st century. Even though Tchaikovsky's operas, chamber-vocal and instrumental works were written more than a hundred years ago, they do not lose their relevance, attracting the attention of a wide audience. In this case, they can be seen as a mirror of the culture of the past, presented through the prism of intersubjective vision. At the same time, it will be appropriate to analyze the factors that contribute to the vitality of Tchaikovsky's works in the space of modernity. First of all in the musical culture of Ukraine. The purpose of the article is to analyze the influence of Tchaikovsky's operatic heritage on the development of a modern musical culture of Ukraine. This goal is realized through the analysis of operas as a mirror of the composer's worldview, as well as drawing attention to the question of the existence of origin in Tchaikovsky's work. The scientific methodology is to apply a biographical method and a comparative approach. Methods of analysis and synthesis are also applied. The results of the study are to highlight the features of Tchaikovsky's style, outlining its influence on today's Ukrainian culture. Conclusions. Tchaikovsky is a genius whose work combines lyricism and deep philosophical thinking. His connections with Ukraine - creative, personal contacts and intonation specificity of style allow speaking about extraordinary closeness to the national mentality. His operas are the basis of the repertoire of many performers. The creativity of P.I. Tchaikovsky is part of today's musical culture, and its deep meanings are such that they touch the inner aspirations of modern humanity. Prospects for further exploration are the analysis of modern interpretations of the works of P.I. Tchaikovsky, which arise in the context of the challenges of postmodern society.
