Abstract

The article analyzes the current state of the regulatory framework and the corresponding mechanism of strategic planning and management of vocational education in the Russian Federation. The main element of the mechanism for implementing state policy in the field of personnel training is the state programs of scientific and technological development and education development. Poor quality and insufficiently balanced development of vocational education is one of the main factors of weak innovation activity of the economy. In turn, this creates a low demand for the training of new generations of personnel capable of ensuring the implementation of priority areas of scientific and technological development.
 The article presents recommendations for improving the mechanism of strategic planning and management of vocational education, planning budget expenditures for science and vocational education.
