Abstract
A trial example for an engineering design education is reported. A subject “Engineering design” has started since 2012 in a structural engineering program, school of engineering at Nagasaki University. In the subject, group works are carried out as a project-based learning. Each group which is consisted of five to seven students acts as each project team and aims to get a work by drafting and selling a project plan to Nagasaki Prefecture or Nagasaki City with local resources. One of the seven groups implemented in 2016 has successfully got an opportunity to present their some suggestions about a preservation and an application of the site of Nagasaki City Shiroyama Elementary School bombed building in public.
