Abstract
The article presents some characteristics of German Romanticism as intellectual movement in philosophy and literature. The focus is on the image of love in this period, marriage, women’s education. One of the most important elements in the philosophy of love is turning to the culture of sensuality. For romantics love is the creative base of existence.
