Abstract

The paper considers the intra-organizational competitiveness as a cause and factor of the conflict environment in the organization. With the formation of market relations in our country, many different entrepreneurial or commercial organizations were established. In these organizations, this provision was particularly evident. The analysis of situations within commercial organizations has shown that they are frequently involved in the violent conflicts, which are often resolved not on an equitable basis. In the studies conducted, the various aspects of conflicts in the profit oriented businesses were considered, but they did not pay enough attention to the psychological mechanisms of conflict behavior and the impact of such conflicts on the company competitiveness. In our study, there is a clear connection between the intra-organizational competitiveness, the conflict nature of organizational environment, and the company competitiveness. However, the type of this connection was not determined in the psychological and conflict studies. A joint analysis of the results of expert evaluation and questioning made it possible to identify the main features of the intra-organizational competitive and conflict environment in profit organizations and their impact on the company competitiveness. It was found out that the horizontal conflicts of interests and responsibilities prevail in profit organizations (over 70%), and they contribute to the development of chaotic activity and reduce the companies competitiveness. The share of vertical conflicts is law, as by virtue of the established practice, the chances of winning a conflict with the company management or owner are minimal. In profit organizations, about 60% of conflicts act a destructive function, and only about a third part can act a creational function, the rest - a diagnostic function. The destructive function of conflicts adversely affects the operating efficiency of employees and organizations, reduces its competitiveness. Thus, most conflicts in business structures have a negative impact on their competitiveness. Many respondents and experts have a negative attitude to such conflicts, because the emotional response is often associated with the fact that conflicts are not resolved on an equitable basis, and that leads to strong grievances, affective reactions.
