Abstract

The paper analyses modeling problem in modern education science. The relevance of the modeling problem is due to the growing interest in modeling in education science, as well as the great modeling potential in solving pedagogical problems. The main problems that modern teachers deal with are identified, and the classification of models is given. The concepts of modeling in the interdisciplinary field and in the psychological and education sciences are characterized. Various definitions of the model are analysed, the main types of models in modern pedagogical research are proposed. The interdisciplinary nature of modeling is substantiated. The features of modeling in pedagogy are reviewed. The basic requirements for pedagogical models are formulated. The novelty of the proposed material lies in the substantiation of the interdisciplinary nature of modeling, as well as in the formulation of requirements for pedagogical models.
