Abstract

Road safety issues, including road transport, are always given special attention. As an object of research, the mechanism of the front brake of front-wheel drive LADA cars is considered. Possible operational defects of the ventilated front brake disc are described, and a map of its defects is compiled. Statistical data of working surfaces wear of the disk as a leading defect is considered. The dependence of the total disk wear on the car mileage is obtained. A mathematical calculation of the braking torque in the front braking mechanism is performed, and the strength of the brake disc is estimated on its basis by the finite element method. The critical section of the disk are determined in case of critical wear of the working surfaces. A mathematical calculation of the braking torque in the front brake mechanism is performed.
