Abstract

The article deals with peculiarities of activities of female education institutions of Poltava province at the end of 19th – beginning of 20th centuries concerning the training of future teachers and educators. It is emphasized that the impetus for the practical training of teaching staff was the adoption of ‘Regulations of teaching classes’ in 1874. A special attention is paid to the views of K. Ushynsky and Y. Kyvlytskyi as for female professional teacher education. It was found that in Poltava Institute of Noble Ladies, girls' school and high school (public and private) of the province, Poltava diocesan women's college due attention was given to the study of ‘Pedagogy’, methods of teaching elementary-level education subjects. Features of preparation in pedagogical classes in secondary female education institutions in Poltava province are revealed. The importance of pedagogical practice in the process acquisition of professional knowledge and skills of future teachers of primary education, kindergarten teachers and mentors in female education institutions in Poltava province at the end of 19th – beginning of 20th centuries is emphasized. The peculiarities of teaching practice organization based in its own female Sunday school.
