Abstract

The present article deals with the problem of poly-discoursivity in the literary fiction on the material of the E. Vodolazkin’s novel «Lavr». The aims of the research include studying linguistic means of blending different discourses within one context, analyzing the main features of polydiscoursivity and its influence on a narrative structure. It is said that postmodern prose represents a sphere of the poly-discoursivity, which means superimposition and interaction of the various discourses. Intertextuality is shown as a specific form of poly-discoursivity because it can be considered as an insertion of a particular personal discourse into the text. Much attention is given to polysemy of the utterance. This is due to discourse capability to have its own typical picture of the world. It is emphasized that multiplicity of reading is a goal of the postmodern writer. Poly-discoursivity is related to the supra-individual language experience, it can transgresses bounds of linearity of narrative and contributes to the emergence of fractals and metacommunicative acts. As the result, non-linearity of the text and fractality highlight existential, universal semantic level in the text. Keywords: discourse, poly-discoursivity, intertextuality, non-linearity of the text, fractality.
