Abstract

Introduction. The study of military history of Ukraine by future frontier officers is necessary to prepare them properly for the armed and information repulsion of the aggressor. Purpose. To cover the peculiarities of formation the professional culture of the border guard officer by means of the special course «Ukrainian and Russian Relations: History and Modernity». Methods. The system of general scientific and special methods of theoretical and empirical research, such as analysis of scientific literature on the problem, systematization and generalization of materials, logical and systematic approach has been used.Results. The article deals with the subject of the special elective discipline «Ukrainian and Russian Relations: History and Modernity», the main issues of the military history of Ukraine, the importance of a special course for formation the professional culture of future frontier officers have been revealed. It has been proved that the study of the special course meets the requirements of strengthening the military component in the activities of the border agency and the realities of today, allows to acquaint future frontier officers with the traditions and glorious Ukrainian military formations, to form strategic professional thinking of border guards, to understand their priorities and means of their professional activities that is proper preparation for information and armed counteraction to the aggressor.Originality. The necessity to study the history of Ukrainian and Russian relations by future border guard officers has been outlined, the practical approach to the coverage of Ukrainian military history as a history of heroic achievements of the Ukrainian army has been shown.Conclusion. Knowledge of the history and traditions of the armed struggle for independence by future frontier officers is a necessary prerequisite for their proper preparation for the information and armed counteraction to the aggressor. The areas of further research are to determine the basics of training, the basics of information security in the system of training of future border guard officers.
