Abstract
The study of psychological and personal characteristics of younger schoolchildren with a tendency to deviant behavior is discussed in the article. Most often, deviations are manifested by teenage children, therefore, younger schoolchildren rarely come into the field of view of researchers, but the prerequisites for social maladaptation and deviant behavior can be observed already in pre-adolescence, and therefore it is important to identify such features at an early stage and offer corrective measures. The study involved 62 junior schoolchildren, representatives of the fourth grades of Moscow schools. It was important to clarify the relationship between the level of aggression, anxiety, the level of emotional intelligence and assertiveness of behavior in younger schoolchildren with deviant behavior. As a result of the study, significant differences were found between the characteristics of students with and without deviant behavior. Younger schoolchildren with deviant behavior showed such features as: anxiety, a tendency to lie, irritability and the desire for selfdamaging actions, a tendency to aggressive, dependent and delinquent behavior. They often feel guilty, show suspicion, resentment and negativism, have lower emotional intelligence and a low, but close indicator of the level of assertiveness of behavior towards schoolchildren without deviations in behavior.
