Abstract

ABSTRACT This article is a brief study of religious practices of Islamic rule in sub-continent. Muslim's rule on Sub-Continent after tughluq family to Mughal family is extended than five centuries. Muslim rule could not perform revolutionary role for the preaching of Islam. Some of the Mughal Empires were impressed by Hindus. As a result, Humayyun was not eating beef, the Akbar started new religion and Shah Jahan was captivated in honor of Hindu sadhus. Rather than to strengthen the Islam they paid their attention to strengthening their empire Except Orang Zaib Alamgir, Sikander lodhi and Sher shah soori. In this article an attempt will be made to examine those religious practices which seem to owe something to the interaction of Hinduism and Islam. As a minority, Indian Muslims have been living in close proximity with the Hindus since eleventh century. Due to this, impact of Hindu cultural and religious practices reflected in the society of Indian Muslims. So that Hindu traditional norms and customs infiltrate in the Muslim's society. Despite the long-term government of Muslims in sub-continent, Hindus have always been outnumbers than Muslims.
