Abstract

The paper analyzes economic and legal aspects of risk management at financial and credit institutions in Russia and abroad. The subject of study is risk management system activities of non-credit financial institutions and their effectiveness in modern conditions. The study focuses on examining regulator’s requirements that limit the risks for non-credit financial institutions; investigating foreign regulatory experience in this area; and identifying key challenges and trends in the development of the existing regulatory system. The author carried out a comparative analysis of requirements adopted in different countries for financial and credit institutions as well as considered the possibility of using international regulatory experience in modern Russia. It is concluded that the list of requirements aimed at risk restrictions in the activities of financial and credit institutions is rather wide and, in author’s opinion, the current regulatory system in Russia is quite efficient.
