Abstract

The purpose of this research is to understand the effect of combined exercise order on body composition and muscle strength. 15 adult females, who had been conducting combined exercise more than twice a week and for more than 3 months recently, participated in the research as objects. They were separated into 2 groups which were AR group and RA group. AR group refers to a group which conducts resistance exercise after aerobic exercise. The group conducts aerobic exercise at the level of 60-75% of their maximum heart rate. For resistance exercise, they conducted at the level of 50-60% of 1RM. For 1st-4th week, 3 sets of exercise with 15 times a set, and for 5th-8th week 4 sets of exercise with 15 times a set was conducted. The exercise was programed 3 times a week, 12 weeks total. Conversely, RA group conducted aerobic exercise after resistance exercise. They conducted resistance exercise at the level of 50-60% of 1RM, and aerobic exercise at the level of 60-75% of their maximum heart rate. The exercise was programed 3 times a week, 12 weeks total. Body composition, isokinetic strength, anaerobic capacity, and aerobic capacity of AR group and RA group were evaluated as measuring items before and after conducting exercise. The results of this research are as follows. RA group showed significant change in their weight, body fat, BMI, and WHR. The aerobic capacity was increased both in AR group and RA group, and anaerobic capacity showed significant change in RA group. The leg strength and lumbar muscle strength were increase in RA group, but there was no significant effect between groups. There was positive change shown in RA group about body composition and muscle strength, and this type of exercise is though to be the fittest model among the types of exercise. The experimental research with detailed plan is needed for various types of training method in the future. Also, various research related to physiological and biochemical variables of training method, according to sex, age, time(forenoon, afternoon, night), is needed.
