Abstract
During late Goryeo and early Joseon period, an official educational system was organized by government. In this regard Yin-Yang studies(陰陽學) was established as a department of Ten school(十學) by merging prophesy studies(卜業) and geomancy studies(地理業). Yin-Yang studies had been subdivided into three branches, astronomy(天文學), geomancy(地理學), and prophesy(命課學) during the King Sejong(r. 1419-1450) and King Sejo(r.1455-1468) period. The most significant improvement is an establishment of astronomy branch which was absented in Goryeo Dynasty.
