This study was conducted with the residents of apartments, and the researcher examined the theoretical background on what kind of factors were in play when they made a choice on their place of residence and how satisfied they were with their decisions. This was followed by the identification of a system of the decision-making factors with their residences based on existing study results. The findings in this study were as follows; First, the potential buyers who were living in an apartment considered the present factor to be more important compared to the future factor. Second, based on the characteristics of the potential buyers, their awareness on the place of the residence turned out to be different. Gender, age, marital status, number of minor children, number of people in the family, income level, type of residence, and the location of their current residences were found to make a difference in terms of their awareness on their place of residence. In conclusion, potential buyers valued the present factors more importantly in general, while females, those with a higher income level, homeowners, or those who lived in Gangnam district of Seoul valued future factors more.
