Abstract

Based on the Psychology of Work Theory (PWT), this study aimed to investigate the influenceof personal and contextual factors on subgroup categorization based on experiences of decentwork and work meaning among 345 female helping professionals. The primary researchfindings are as follows: First, latent profile analysis identified four groups regarding decent workand work meaning, categorized as ‘not decent but meaningful work’, ‘decent and meaningfulwork’, ‘ordinary work’, and ‘not decent and meaningless work’. Second, personal and contextualfactors significantly affected the predictive elements of the latent profiles, displaying variedimpacts across these groups. It holds significance in providing an overall examination of theworkplace, particularly in elucidating practical recommendations for fostering more decent andmeaningful work.
