성소수자를 상담한 상담자의 경험에 관한 질적 메타요약

Abstract

This study is a qualitative meta-synthesis on the experiences of counselors who have provided sexual minorities with counseling services. We have approached this study as a qualitative meta-synthesis within the framework of qualitative research synthesis. Three raters were involved in the study, and we analyzed sexual minority counselors’ experiences clarified in six studies conducted in the Republic of Korea. This study’s research process consisted of seven steps: 1. Beginning of the study, 2. Initial search and selection of relevant studies, 3. Understanding and analysis of individual studies, 4. Identification of relationships between studies, 5. Analysis of the associations between studies, 6. Synthesizing interpretations, and 7. Presentation of overall findings. As a result of analyzing each of those six studies, we identified a total of 134 technical topics, which were synthesized into 34 comprehensive topics. We also presented eight core topics. In consideration of the context, strategy, and time frame, we eventually derived a research conclusion. Based on the results of this study, we discussed and suggested how to enhance the capacity of sexual minority counselors, develop a supportive system, and establish a knowledge ecosystem.
