Abstract

Actuality: At present, with the development and continuous improvement of adhesive techniques, filling and ceramic materials, dentists have more opportunities to work with the shape, location and color of teeth in the aesthetically important zone — the smile zone. One of the most important stages in carrying out such treatment is careful planning and diagnostics conducted before irreversible changes in the oral cavity of the patient. The main problems in restoring the aesthetics of a smile are connected with determining the patient’s expectations from the treatment and demonstrating the possibilities of treatment in a specific clinical situation. The purpose of the study was to show the application of various diagnostic concepts for planning the treatment of a patient in an aesthetically significant zone using an example of a specific clinical case. Materials and methods: There was examined patient A, young-aged women (23), who applied to the clinic complaining about the unsatisfactory shape, size and asymmetry of the central incisors, and also the presence of gaps between the frontal teeth of the upper jaw. The results of this study is a demonstration of an integrated approach to diagnosis and treatment when restoring a smile aesthetics using ceramic veneers to achieve the desired aesthetic and functional result. Conclusions. Using the technique of three-dimensional modeling makes it possible to evaluate the possibility of conducting aesthetic treatment and to obtain a predictable result. Psychological mood of the patient and readiness to perceive changes in the smile and lower third of the face, adequate perception of information about the initial situation in the oral cavity, the patient’s willingness to cooperate with the clinician at all stages of treatment helps to get the best result of treatment.
