Abstract

Main issue: the necessity of the qualitative preparation of PhD military students in the military postgraduate studies for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is determined by the need for modernization of the higher military education system, providing it with highly qualified scientific and educational and scientific personnel, capable to conduct targeted missions in accordance with the requests and requirements. At the same time, there is an urgent problem regarding the correspondence of previously developed educational and scientific programs for training specialists at the third level of higher education to the present day requirements, because of the absence of approved higher education professional standards at the state level in each specialty, according to which preparation and defence of PhD thesis and awarding the degrees will be conducted.Purpose: is to cover the burning issues of the career terms of preparing scientific and scientific and pedagogical staff at the higher military educational establishment, in analysis of the training content of higher qualification military personnel in the military postgraduate studies and educational and scientific programs implementation.Methods of research: the method of analysis and synthesis and the method of expert evaluation are used. Main Results: are the coverage of problematic issues regarding the career terms of the preparation of PhD military students in the military postgraduate studies. Recommendations for officials of higher military educational institutions (research institutions), which are engaged in organizing the preparation of scientific and scientific and pedagogical personnel, have been developed.Originality (Scientific novelty and practical significance): the officer’s career, who is intending to continue his professional activity in the scientific and pedagogical (scientific) positions, significantly influences the preparation terms of the military specialists of certain level and their readiness for the individual activities.Conclusion: it is obvious that the urgent problem, which influences the quality preparation of PhD military students in the military postgraduate studies, is the prospects of their career development, since they determine the motivation of the future highly skilled military specialists to pursue professionally scientific and scientific-pedagogical activities at the higher military education institution. In order to reduce the time criteria for the preparation of the military specialists whose appointment is envisaged on the scientific and pedagogical (scientific) positions of the corresponding level, it is necessary to carry out constant support both for professional (career) and scientific activity of officers who have shown the ability to study and inclination to pedagogical (scientific) work, and how quickly they are selected as candidates for admission. Each decision, that is taken in this area, should ultimately serve to achieve this goal. This will allow increasing the terms of their military service on scientific and pedagogical (scientific) positions after the completion of their training in the postgraduate course.The further scientific research is seen in clarifying and solving issues regarding improving the quality of selection of candidates for admission to the postgraduate studies, which will ensure the educational process of the higher military education institution with fully trained scientific and pedagogical and scientific personnel.
