Abstract

The Yukaghir is one of the most ancient languages of northeastern Siberia and represented by two separate, however closely related languages of Tundra and Forest Yukaghirs. The paper is devoted to the Russian lexical transfers in the language spoken by Tundra Yukaghirs (less than 40 speakers), residing in the Low Kolyma basin in Yakutia. According to the last research conducted by the author, there are about 800 russisms in Tundra Yukaghir, most of them related to the second period of Yukaghir and Russian contacts (20s of the 20th century – end of the 20th century). Out of the total number of russisms, 75 per cent are direct ones and 25 per cent are indirect ones, mostly via Yakut. The full composition of russisms denoting physical values and numerals, and transferred directly or via Yakut is firstly described.
