Abstract

The monograph explores the phenomenal personality of Alisher Nava’i, the history of attitudes towards him; it gives comparative critical analyses of Persian and Turkic manuscripts that have been created until now and researches devoted to the great master in Uzbek, Russian and English languages. About 50 manuscripts and their lithographical copies containing the information on life and works of Navo’i have been explored thoroughly under the comparative-critical and typological-textual criterions. He book widely focuses on the reasons of emergence and existence of false data in the manuscripts until XX century, intensively proving their territorial dispersion and extents of shifts. The book explains characteristics of approaches of XV-XIX century`s authors to Nava’i`s personality, their subjective interpretations, displaying the reasons why all the data was included into their books. A solid research conducted in the book brings out to scientific use a great deal of new information in the forms of facts, hymns and ta’rikh that have been unknown until this period. This book is a fundamental research that put forward new points about the lifetime and works of Alisher Nava‘i.
