Abstract

The history of the creation of main pipelines dates back to the oil fields of Baku and Pennsylvania. Throughout their history, pipelines have undergone a significant change from the first pipelines in the US oil fields to modern field mainpipelines. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the rapid development of internal combustion engines began. The latest weapons were equipped with engines that needed light oil products for their work. Before the outbreak of the Second World War, the system for the supply of oil products for the needs of the troops did not have time to form in full.Fuel was supplied to the troops mainly by rail or road. After the end of the Second World War, taking into account the experience of military operations, to provide large groupings of troops, sets of field mainpipelines were adopted for service. The sets of pipelines could be deployed over a distance of 150 kilometers with a daily capacity of up to 3000 tons. For the deployment of sets of field mainlines, their storage, maintenance and operation, special units were created – pipeline battalions. The modern use of field main pipelines is not limited to supplying fuel to military units; pipelines can often be used to extinguish large fires, as well as to supply water to settlements in the event of a natural disaster or a man-made accident. As a result,it would be advisableto introduce separate pipeline company into the regular structure at fuel bases and supply centers. In the future, it is possible to assign to individual pipeline companies the functions of not only providing military units with fuel, but also providing assistance to local units of the DSNS during the elimination of forest and large-scale fires and the elimination of floods. Keywords: introducing separate pipeline company into the regular structure, the use of field main pipelines, the use of pipeline units in modern conditions, the use of field main pipelines in the elimination of large-scale fires and floods.
