Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the structural relationship of positive psychological capital, career preparation behavior, and career adaptability for university students participating in physical Education. Participants of this study were 455 physical education students who were more than 18 years old. They were assessed by positive psychological capital scale, career preparation behavior scale, and career adaptability scale. The evaluation questionnaires were modified to reflect the circumstances in Korea and underwent a validity test prior to translation. The data were conducted by descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and structure equation modelling. First, positive psychological capital had a positive influence on career preparation behavior. Second, positive psychological capital had a positive influence on career adaptability. Third, career preparation behavior had a positive influence on career adaptability. Finally, the relationships between positive psychological capital and the level of career adaptability were mediated by career preparation behavior.
