Abstract

Introduction. The article is devoted to the analysis of theoretical approaches to the formation of a model of psychological readiness of firefighters-rescuers of the SES of Ukraine. The essence of the concepts “readiness”, “professional readiness” and “psychological readiness” is defined. The content of psychological readiness of firefighters-rescuers is cleared up. The purpose of the research is to a identify structural components and develop a model of psychological readiness of firefighters-rescuers of the SES of Ukraine.Methods. To achieve the aim and the tasks of the research a complex of interrelated research methods is used, the choice of which is caused by the content of the given problem: theoretical – analysis, synthesis, systematization and generalization of the data from the literary sources.Originality. The scientific novelty of the article is a content of psychological readiness of firefighters-rescuers is cleared up. And the developed a model of psychological readiness of firefighters-rescuers of the SES of Ukraine.Conclusion. It is defined that psychological readiness to the professional activity of firefighters-rescuers is a complicated synthesis of motivational and value-based, cognitive and activity-organizational components of readiness which are determined by certain indicators of readiness and characterize the personality of firefighters-rescuers in the process of performing their professional activities in extinguishing fires and carrying out emergency rescue operations. The structural components of psychological readiness of firefighters-rescuers which respond to the structural elements of the professional activity of firefighters-rescuers are characterized in details.The motivational and value-based component of readiness for professional activity determines the focus of a firefighter-rescuer on the professional activity, the desire to become a skilled specialist in the chosen profession. Motivation is associated with the professional self-improvement of the personality of a firefighter-rescuer.The cognitive component is the professional knowledge of a firefighter-rescuer which is based on the knowledge of the content of operational activities, the peculiarities of extinguishing fires at various facilities, the possibilities and procedure for using fire-rescue equipment and the like. On the other hand, professional knowledge is reflected in professional competence. Its main components are as follows: social and legal competence, special competence, personal competence, autocompetence and extreme competence. The activity-organizational component is the most important one in the structure of psychological readiness; it is characterized by the presence of a number of qualities and an aggregate of organizational abilities that determine possibility of the successful implementation of the professional activities of a firefighter-rescuer.
