Abstract
The study aims to identify specificity of the evaluation category representation in the Russian phraseology. Scientific originality of the paper involves studying the means to express evaluation by the material of the special lexico-grammatical category of predicative-evaluative phraseological units. The research findings justify the necessity to introduce new approaches to studying the linguistic category of evaluation. The author believes that emphasis should be given to the semantic analysis of the mentioned phraseological units taking into account their contextual usage.
