Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of organizational health in child care center, infant teacher’s positive psychological capital, and burnout on career commitment. Data were collected from 444 infant teachers in Busan. All research variables were measured using self-reported questionnaires such as organizational health, infant teacher’s positive psychological capital, burnout and career commitment. Collected data were analyzed with Pearson’s correlation and structural equational modeling. The results are as follows. First, organizational health and infant teacher’s burnout was found to have a direct effect on teacher’s career commitment. Second, infant teacher’s positive psychological capital was found to have an indirect effect on teacher’s career commitment through burnout. Third, infant teacher’s burnout was found to be the most important variable predicting teacher’s career commitment. These results suggest the need for a great deal of utility to improve infant teacher’s career commitment.
