Abstract

The research objective of the work is to highlight the processes of formation and trends in the development of Ukrainian jazz art. The methodology is based on art history and analytical methods. The scientific novelty The article characterizes the tendencies of formation of Ukrainian jazz. The main reasons for the "lag" of Ukrainian jazz in development compared to the world have been clarified. The peculiarities of the activity of modern jazz groups and separate jazz figures of Ukraine are revealed, the importance of holding international jazz festivals is substantiated. The work of various Ukrainian jazz groups, which is marked by a variety of styles and trends, is highlighted. Conclusions. Analysis of theoretical and practical aspects of the development of vocal and jazz art in Ukraine involves the process of continuous development and renewal of jazz contemporary art. Jazz continues to arouse the interest of musicians and listeners around the world, regardless of their nationality, religious beliefs, social status, civic position, and so on. Modern Ukrainian jazz has come a long way from rejection to admiration. A number of factors contribute to the further development and improvement of domestic jazz art: the expansion of the geographical boundaries of jazz projects; development of jazz educational institutions and organization of international festivals; strengthening the interest of foreign researchers in Ukrainian culture and art; involvement of contemporary Ukrainian artists of various genres in the development of jazz art. Ukrainian jazz groups and individual performers are increasingly trying to cooperate with each other, as well as doing joint projects with world artists, which certainly requires constant analysis and coverage by scientists. The globalization processes of the modern world provide a constant creative connection of Ukrainian jazz with other musical traditions, and as a result - its constant development and renewal. This determines the further interest of domestic and foreign art critics in jazz and is relevant to the study of trends in Ukrainian jazz in the future.
