Abstract

The paper aims to determine features of studying the Caucasian text in the Russian literature from the viewpoint of the Chinese literary criticism, to give a brief overview of the main lines of modern research in China. Scientific novelty of the research lies in introducing new theoretical material into the scientific field, namely the Chinese scientists’ publications over the past decade. As a result, it is found that considerable attention is paid to studying the Caucasus image in creative work of such Russian writers of the XIX and XX centuries as A. Pushkin, N. Gogol, M. Lermontov, L. Tolstoy, A. Chekhov, M. Gorky, F. Iskander, V. Makanin; changes in the Caucasus image in the Russian writers’ works are identified and characterised.
