Abstract

The problem of automatic optimal control of electric power systems normal modes is considered. An approach is proposed for two-level optimization of an electric network with the presence of an active load and renewable energy sources. A dynamic optimization model used in the automatic optimal control cycle is described. To solve the dynamic optimization problem a new stochastic optimization method based on the particle swarm optimization is proposed. This method is universal and applicable to optimize dynamic processes evolving in time when it is required to take into account the time-dependent cost of control actions. The application of this method for dynamic optimization of normal electrical modes of a real power system is considered.
