Abstract

The article studies basic methods of forming special expressive vocabulary, sources of forming professional and slang words, functions defined by the sphere of professional vocabulary and types of social dialects as offshoots of the common language. Differences in the formation of the notions «social dialects», «slang», «jargon», «argo» are considered, the differentiation of terminologized and professional slang words is developed. The importance of the determinization process and influence of communication barriers on the process of forming professionalisms is emphasized. It is noted that special lexicons fix the term meaning in the volume used by the most qualified professionals, while general dictionaries reflect the idea about the word meaning of a nonspecialist in this field of knowledge or activity. Students should be aware that using professionalisms is appropriate only at the verbal level, since these words have no sphere of fixation and can not be used in textbooks, manuals, scientific researches. They need learn differentiating the notions «special language», and «language of professional communication», «term» and «professionalism», interpret the above mentioned notions and be able to use them when working with texts on professional activity. In the prospect it is advisable to create a complex of training exercises and tasks for students to master the professional vocabulary of the economic sector more efficiently, and distinguish domain specific terminology as a type of common language.
