Abstract

After several steps of developments, the HSR SEVONETT 91-L flotation machine (Fig. 1) has been invented. Its characteristic features are as follows: (1) Its rotor for aeration is a disc with radial blades on its both sides and placed at a shallow level corresponding to the pulp running out window between the air inlet duct and the draft tube. (2) The pulp running out window is surrounded by several radial vertical plates to avoid the violence on the froth layer. (3) A propeller to push up the pulp in the draft tube is added at the lower end of the shaft of the roter near the bottom of the cell. Some experiments and theoretical considerations prove that the aeration of the HSR SEVONNETT 91-1 flotation machine is superior, volumetrically and energetically, to the other conventional flotation machines, and there is no fear of the sand banking on the cell bottom. Its construction is simple. Therefore, the HSR SEVONETT 91-L flotation machine is worth while to be recommended as a large flotation machine. It is desired eagerly to be adapted as a practiacal machine.
