Abstract

The theme of creativity is actualized in “Humiliated and Insulted” not only in the proper image of the main character, the writer. In addition, the motive of searching for a word in description of the world, which is so intensely conducted by Dostoevsky's hero, is revealed in the establishment of many intertextual connections of his works with the texts of other authors. The reminiscential structure of “Humiliated and Insulted”, emphasized in the narrative, allows the reader to see how this novel literally "being composed" before the eyes of its reader, presenting the opportunity for the word to create and transform the world.
