Abstract

Tourism is one of the fastest growing industries in the global economy, making a significant contribution to economic growth, job creation and regional development. However, despite its potential, the tourism services market faces a number of restrictions and barriers that hinder its full development. Institutional constraints play a key role in the formation of these barriers. They cover a wide range of factors, including government regulation, financial constraints, corruption, legal and administrative barriers, and inadequate infrastructure. All these factors can have a negative impact on the development and competitiveness of the tourism industry. The purpose of this article is to analyze the institutional constraints and barriers that the tourism services market faces and assess their impact on its development. More specifically, the article will look at government regulation, financial constraints, corruption and insufficient infrastructure as the main institutional factors limiting the growth and development of the tourism industry. To achieve this goal, a literature review will be conducted, which will examine the current scientific literature and research on institutional constraints and barriers to the development of the tourism services market. Based on the findings and analysis, the research methodology will be presented, as well as a discussion of the main findings and recommendations. The study of institutional restrictions and barriers in the tourism services market is of great practical importance. Understanding these limitations and developing appropriate strategies and policies will help overcome obstacles and create an enabling institutional environment for tourism development. This will not only improve the competitiveness of individual regions and countries, but also contribute to the sustainable development of the tourism industry as a whole.
