Abstract
The objective of the article is to raise the problem of the legal status of refugees in the inner legal field, in conjunction with international humanitarian law, which is to protect rights of sheltered refugees in the country. We do clarify the specifics of the legal status of refugees to elucidate main issues related to the legal status of refugees in the Artsakh Republic, which is not a subject of international law. In comprehensive study of the problems posed within the article, general scientific - dialectical, logical, historical, as well as individual (personal) or special methods were used, such as legal-comparative, analytical, statistical, systemic methods. The result of the research is the conclusion that legal status of refugees are their rights and freedoms, the legitimate interests, which are reflected in the Constitution, laws, normative legal acts of the Artsakh Republic. Substantiating need of comprehensive, well-thought-out mechanism in ensuring the legal status of refugees, the author points out both the benefits and drawbacks of the legislation in the Artsakh Republic, appreciates incessantly stipulating the principles of legal status of refugees and guarantees in legal acts.
