Abstract

The article is a study of the current state of vocational education in higher education institutions. It is noted that without an effective higher education system capable of training global specialists, the country is doomed to lag in scientific, technical and economic competition with the advanced countries. It is revealed that the Law of Ukraine “On Education”, the Decree of the President of Ukraine “On the main directions of reforming higher education in Ukraine”, the national program “Education” (Ukraine of the XXI century) and a number of regulatory documents formulate the main tasks for updating the entire educational system industry and in particular higher education systems. It is noted that the introduction of higher education in the Bologna educational system was a revolutionary step towards moving to the European educational space. It is noted that the Bologna Process envisages changing approaches to the formation of educational programs and curricula at universities. It is noted that the process of education and research is refocused on the more independent work of both students and scholars. The most urgent problems of vocational education in higher educational institutions are noted. Among them are the lack of practical training; lack of coordination between education and employers; low innovative quality of educational services provided and as a consequence a significant number of unemployed graduates. It was noted that in order to solve the issue of professional training of future specialists, the “Concept of training specialists in the dual form of education” was developed. According to the concept, the solution to the problem of future employment is envisaged through the implementation of a set of measures to develop models of mutually beneficial relations between educational institutions, employers and educators. It has been found out that the training of specialists in the dual form of education involves the establishment of an equal partnership of all parties with the aim of acquiring future specialists with the experience of the practical application of competencies and their adaptation in the conditions of professional activity. The expected results from the introduction of such a model of vocational education in higher education are listed.
