Abstract
A synthetic process for the nano-composite of a Ba2YCu3O7-y superconductor and Ag was examined. Hybridization through grinding promoted the uniform dispersion of Ag ultrafine particles (10nm order of diameter) in the Ba2YCu3O7-y matrix. HIP sintering surpressed the undesirable grain growth of Ag on the order of 100-300nm in the sintered body. Enhancement for both the superconducting transport current property and magnetic flux pinning properties was promoted by the control of the post annealing condition of the HIP sintered body.
